Posh 30, 45, 47, 60 and 61 are tufted on a 1/8 gauge, so the rows of tufts sit just one-eighth of an inch apart: eight rows in every inch. Packed close, the tufts help support each other for a dense, full feel underfoot.4

Laboratory conditions are accelerated. How much and how fast carpet breaks down in an actual landfill depends on conditions there, and many landfills are not biologically active. Result applies to the carpet fiber, not the entire carpet.
